How does power travel through the staff?

When you hold the staff, one hand is the power hand and the other is control hand. I guess power is generated by the power hand but you need the control hand to control that power. That power is transmitted to the tip of the staff.

Well, let me take a shot at it WH...
The staff acts as an extended arm, so the energy in your arm just goes into the staff, hence the power from your strike travles through the staff into whatever.
the same way it travels through your body in the corresponding motion
biu, tan, bong whatever
theres a reason they have the same name

It depends on the application. Use can use a staff to stab, slash, throw, pin, smash, lift....
