Visit www.carbonecho.com (http://www.carbonecho.com) and go to the "Kungfu" section and watch the vidclips of a famous Southern Praying Mantis "master" and his students. The forearms should stay parallel to the ground and the elbows should NOT rise up and lock.

My post was about the way a specific technique that is BASIC to the SPM systems was shown.
If you want to dispute and/or discuss the correct way that a basic Phoenix Eye Punch should be thown in the SPM systems, well then, you are free to do so.
Again, I assert that the forearms should remain paralle to the ground and that the elbows should not raise up and lock.
Have you seen the vidclips for yourself?
Search the carbonecho site for "Southern Praying Mantis" and scroll down the result page.
You will also find vidclips of an seriously abbreviated and mangled form of Sombogin done at lightning speed, with the practicioner showing his back to the camera for half the form!
But that is another matter entirely!
CAVEAT EMPTOR!
