What is your opinion of private gun ownership?

You b@stard! You know I can't speak
in normal old ways
but must rhyme two weeks
and yet here you says
"Should I own a gun?"
I should smack you right now
like a grade school nun.

Guns as you know
make very loud booms
and cause widespread panic
when fired in rooms
and outside they tend
to make drive by's available
and at small shops and shows
they're easily saleable
(even if previously
they'd been used to make hideously
humongously
devastating holes
in all sorts of kindly
spindly
poles,
and chinamen, english men,
priests and even rabbis-
heck, the darn things make holes
in good guys and bad guys).

Now there's some who would say
"They're our god given right!"
And they make little brochures
both day and at night
and they leave in the men's room
little conservative e-zines
and they buy the NRA
NRA limousines
and the NRA takes their favourite congressperson to the sauna
saying "Do me like a sorority girl if you wanna,
just make sure that guns can be found readily
in every five year old's closet
And two for the teens!"

Now I say that licenses are just fine for cars
and conservatives don't argue, no problem indeed,
but once I should say "No license, No gun"
Some seem to think this is a crazy old creed
and if I should say
that there is no way
that guns should be given to morons who deposit
their automags in a shoe box in the closet
and other such stupid superfluous things
perhaps I am being a wee bit extreme:

But I feel that guns are wonderful things
for fighting against oppressive regimes
and bayonets and magazines
can be such helpful things.

Yet I would say
that here today
most of the commotion
that can't be stifled
is just the promotion
of hobby rifles
and against an army
its just the blarney
of little boys
and their little toys.

That's not even that bad, for someone who has never written in rhyme before.

It reads like a bad rap song, as opposed to the poem nursery rhyme most people come out with.

I liked it :)

Diego said
that it was Ok, somewhat
might get worse
might get bad as a mother ****in
polka song
about kung fu, chin na
ain't no good
if you call for your mama
two weeks long
then its back to some normalcy
until then, here I am stuck all in
rhyme.

Sharky, your rhyme was good
far better than mine
but lets see if you can keep it on topic
in your next rhyme.
I sent you back a rap to yours
but you have clearly got your works
goin' strong
and I'm just messing round
nothing serious
so don't take me wrong.
