WHo is larry tan?

Hi,
I was watching a tape of a TLC about martial arts and it has a few minutes of larry tan doing Hung Gar I think and he talks about what its like in chinatown,NYC back in the day

I have seen this guy as well on several other shows. I remebering seeing him in a video talking about the shaolin temple. I too am not quite sure of what he teaches.
