$20 plans to build your own wooden dummy. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1813562231) Un-f'n-believable. I got my own plans for FREE by looking at webpages. 11 buyers at $20+shipping each? This guy just made $200! And he's been selling these for months! Fuuck this, I'll disassemble mine and take incremental pictures and sell my "plans" for $10. I bet this guy never even made one.

I even emailed him from another address and gave him crap for it and he alwasy replied with "my dummies are better, detailed instructions" bullcrap.

I mean come on! Just LOOK at it! You don't need to pay for plans.

Geez.

Actually, I'm just jealous that this guy is making money and I'm not :P

Folks like this seller tick me off!

I sent this guy an email, asking two questions-

1- I've gotten a ton of free plans off the Internet, as well as from my sifu- what makes his so special that I should drop 20 bones + shipping?

2- Could you send me a small sample so I could compare it to what I got.

His response [paraphrased] - "If you have plans from the Internet, then you don't need these plans..."

WTH!?! This guy is even worse than this tard selling a dummy made for battles of pure fun!
100 bucks for this dummy!? (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1815078810)

If you feel the need to pay 20 bucks for wooden dummy plans, check out my Yahoo Photo Album(HERE) (http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/hacker_jones02/lst?&.dir=/&.src=ph&.view=l&.begin=1&.order=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/hacker_jones02/lst%3f%26.dir=/%26.src=ph%26.view=l)! Quite a few plans (wing chun, JKD) and more. It's FREE - or send me some money if the spirit so moves you!

Peace
:D

IronFist and Cowboy- I think it shows character that although we have the ability to scam ignorant folks like this, we don't! Although, I'm not too sure what scams IronFist might be pulling... :D

Most plans for Wooden Dummies are not very good because they use absolute Western measures (inches, centimeters, etc.) rather than relative Chinese measures.

You mean that's not a good dummy? I just ordered 108 of them so I could make my own "wooden dummy hall!" Dāmmit, I must have gotten ripped off :D

Shhhhhhh... :D :p

You know, it's really dumb. When I was building my dummy I was considering taking pictures of the progress and putting up a "how to build your own dummy with a PVC body and wooden arms," because seriously, while there are already webpages like this, they do kinda suck. Mine was going to be all exact and stuff, full of pictures, measurements, and step by step instructions. Plus, I would recommend www.wooddummy.com since they did an awesome job making my arms and leg. (Besides, it's hard to make your own arms and leg unless you're a skilled woodworker with lots of expensive equipment).

But now, I think I might go ahead and make my "webpage" anyway, except I'll sell it on eBay as a .doc file for $0.01, just to take business away from this jerkass.

Or maybe $5.00 because I'm a poor college student who needs to eat :) But either way, NOT $20.00.

Dāmn! Maybe I'd have more money if I didn't spend it all on dummies for "battles of fun" :(

How do you mean ? Do Chinese plans just give a ratio of each measurement to another ? Why would that be an advantage? Genuine question for when I run out of DIY tasks that need doing and have a go at one.

Hi,

Sorry, what I mean is the dummy is not 6' high and the arms aren't 5 1/2" (or whatever) apart as an absolute rule. It should be made to match the size of the intended user (your size if its your dummy).

I'm with you ironfist.
it's such a waste to spend 20$ for plans like that. I've seen some good plans out there that didn't cost anything, and unless there's some special reason to believe that his plans are going to be out of this world (they probably aren't any better than the free ones)
it's just a way to pay tribute to some punk. he'll probably just give you the url to his sifu's sight once you pay him :D besides, why bother making a normal looking dummy when you could get those creative attempts on ebay!

the construction is not important. all that matters is the superman sticker. :D

You can get the plans as in like blueprints for free online. I wrote a book on the entire construction process, though, if you would like complete instruction as opposed to just blueprints. You can find it here:

Guide to Wooden Dummy Construction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1827159238)

Check out my Yahoo Briefcase- I've combined all the online plans there as well as other variations (including our own Iron Fist's mook).

I couldn't bring myself to add the superman twig dummy that one guy on eBay is attempting to sale.

Yahoo Briefcase - Full of Wooden Dummy Goodness (http://briefcase.yahoo.com/hacker_jones02)

Enjoy!

Peace!

BTW- I got IronFist's book. Very good and recommended. Love those independent published books!
