Shaolinmaster, do you know Li Gar Kuen, or have you just seen it?
There is a set called Li Gar Kuen in the Choy Li Fut I study, but I've never seen pure Li Gar to compare it too.

I like to talk about the arts that learnt from the sifu, not the book, i am not interested in book knowledge.

The spirit of the arts is come from the sifu, not from book, book only gives informations.

ShaolinMaster,
Your knowledge of Southern Kung Fu styles is very impressive. You seem to have something to say about many Southern Kung Ku styles.

Given your extensive knowledge, who are your masters? What is your lineage/s?

BTW, I know Tonfas, he was your classmate in Fairfield. Do you know who I am talking about?

Hello Tonfa's,
I didn't know that there was a book about Lee Gar. Is there any way that I can purchase it? It most probably won't have an ISBN number if it's from China.

The forms that you mentioned above does that translate to Lotus hanging hands, Arrow short strike, and 8 pushes small form?

Think I've seen that picture before, I study under Sifu Gary Hearfield Yau Kung Mun .
Do you have a preference over pakmei /Lungying, see much difference between the two?

daniel boerma
03-06-2001, 03:42 PM
Both are powerful styles & they compliment each other. Isn't this one of the reasons why YKM combines PM & LY forms?

The main difference between the styles is their principles & expression - but I take you know this.

You've "seen that picture before"; a good picture cannot be seen often enough!! :)

It's good to see more sydneysiders on the chatline. Especially brother systems

Ngor Mei where does Sifu Andy teach now.

Tonfas, who is your teacher. Your knowledge of the different systems is great.

TOnfas, sorry to change the subject but you also mention on another thread about a Hung Gar form Tiger Coming Down from the Mountain. I have learnt that form before. Not many HG systems have it but i think it's one of the best forms in the system with many great techniques.

Tonfas,
My previous teacher was Sifu Andy Troung. He was a good teacher and taught me alot. Thanks for telling me the level of the form.It means alot to me. Still love the systems.

However due to financial difficulties on my behalf i had to stop training with him.
I currently study YKM under FT and am again fortunate to have a very good teacher.

The goose stepper is a joke between biu ji & myself. He is also my training brother under FT.
:) :)
