incredible !!!!!!

8 x 8 = 64

I think we're the first people to notice this. Let's keep it to ourselves and only give it out to our indoor students. :D :p

I have a printout someplace of a realy interesting web-article written abt Chess by a linguist and world-ranked Chess player.

He states that Chess was invented in China and proves it through historical accounts of how it developed, showing that even though some versions (russian, turkish) are totally different they all have commonalities with the Chinese game. He also goes abt doing the same thing through linguistics.

Most important Ba-Gua relation with Chinese Chess is that fact that there are Bodyguards, and a 9-Palace arrangement on the board. Cool, huh??

I thought chess was invented in Persia (modern Iran) and was originally called Shah-trang (the Shah's dismay - usually the term used in place of 'check-mate').

I am not a Bagua practitioner but the 64 palms you refer to are they part of a form performed while circle walking?

Too be honest, I am not one to really answer that with authority, for my focus has been on E-Chuan, but of coarse, the Ba GUa is in there.

From my understanding, there are officially 64 palms. Not all of them are necessairly useful, and in actuallity they are infinite, in that, understand the principle, where the power comes in using a particular palm, and how that palm deals with incoming or opposing force and then it can take any shape as long as it adheres to those principles.

I prcatice my palms usually in a straight up fighting stance, while shadow boxing. Though I just did some circle walking at lunch. I'm not that good, so I go slow, and I focus more on getting good extension with the shoulder, breathing, footwork.

Then I may practice the kicking element to the stepping.

Ba Gua is trippy. There is so much in there. E-Chuan only has 10 or 11 palms. But man are they useful.

No one knows E-Chuan really yet. But remember you heard it here first.

64 equals 69 minus two sets of genitalia and a thumb.

Appreciate the info. I am trying to find someone who can teach me circling walking but when you are in no man's land you are in no man's land. Thanks again.
