Hi.

Just a quick Poll.

Where is your Kwoon located.

I got first.

My Kwoon/Dojo is renting an Aikid Dojo that is located inside a Zen Buddhist Temple.

That would be "Own property/location" I guess.

I once tried training at home.
1st Form went ok.
2nd & 3rd Form I ran out of space and hopped too much around to gain space.

:D :D

I train at the best darn location i can possibly think of for kung fu in many ways.
The Chinese Gardens, i meet my master there every morning and we have a little room that we practice in which opens up onto a huge pond filled with MASSIVE colored fish and a mural accross the pond from us of two dragons fighting over breaking waves. The room is not to huge and the floor is tiled but the setting is so darn perfect it just to much.
There is also chinese caligraphy adorning the walls and my sifu has explained that its differing dilects going right back in time.

There is a big downshot to this though, its not exactly what you might call private ;)
We get people video taping us and taking photos constantly, that and many will simply come inside the room where we are training and look around totaly oblivious to what we are doing.
Still its a small price to pay really and it the whole thing feels like a fairy tale half the time. I often then go into Chinatown and have lunch with sifu and ive even started work in his brothers Chinese restuarant.
My life is quite good at the moment all things considered :D

Our school moved to a new location last year. Then, about 2 months after we moved in, a porn store moved next door. Their sign is like 5 times as big as ours. The kids classes attendance went a bit downhill after that.

What really sucks is my Saturday morning class. The first class is at 9:30am and no one has showed up for that class since last May. But the porn places lot is full by 9, waiting for the place to open at 9:30. That really says something, don't it.

Our dojo just moved into a basement space below, and I love this, a men's skin care and facial center.

Better stock up on designer gi's. I do have a bit of a problem with razor burn....perhaps I need a consultation.

My kwoon is just a Gracie-GrapplingCD-ROM (TM)

No, actually, my the kwoon i'd been training at (a wing chun school) for the past 4 years is in a condemned industrial warehouse building in Cambridge (across the river from Boston)...there was fire there about a year ago, the fire didnt destroy the whole building but did a lot of smoke damage....but then the building inspector condemned it because it was a sh!thole and not up to code. The air quality was bad there before the fire, now it is so bad that i stopped training there....i train with another wing chun sifu, the senior of the guy who runs the old school, in his basement. Other than that i just train on my own outside or at the local ymca, hit the bags there, etc. I go by the school once in a while to say hi and do some chi sau, but can't work out there without coughing up a lung, forget sparring or getting anaerobic there, its like doing a bong hit of sooty, toxic industrial waste. Since a major part of kung fu training is all aspects of self preservation, I had to stop training there because it was unhealthy and killing my cardio.
