Those receipts are HK dollars. Converts to $7,949.12 US at today's rate.

"The Wing Tjun we teach differs from the majority of other schools and lineages in that we don't rely on localized muscular strength. Instead we utilize sensitivity, footwork, structure and technique to deal with attacks that are delivered by stronger, or even faster people."

Apparently I am learning at the wrong school, oh wait! Thats what every Wing Chun School I have ever been to has stated! I must be trianing in authentic Wing Tjun

Thanks Alpha Dog for clearing that up. I saw that the receipts were in HK dollars but I was to lazy to look up the exchange rate.

about $100/hour US, but, that is the beauty of capitalism. HK, communist China? HAHAHAHA

Dumb price, but I simply MUST set up my kwoon!;)

Who is Sergio anyway, and why are his receipts on the net?

Whether the price is dumb-depends on who is being paid for a lesson.
Think of Yip Man. Bit more contemporaneously the relevant questions IMHO:
Who is Sergio, why is he paying what he is paying, why does he
advertise what he is paying and who is he paying? Why?Not the most
important questions of our time... but"relevant".

I think you can find some answers on his site:

Well, this is US dollars we're talking about...

According to Dave, someone paid over US$10,000.00 for ten missing techniques to Leung Ting.

The documents are on his site to 'prove' his credentials following a split with Leung Ting's organisation.

To show he is who he says he is. This should interest the 99% of people posting on the forum - for most guys here, lineage is ALL

As for the price of lessons. If you've got the cash to spend and quality of teaching is high... go for it. Not everyone teaching gives lessons for free. No use protecting the rice bowl if you can't afford to fill it with rice!

That said, I'm not sure WT would fill 'my' bowl.

Its probably worth noting that the person who posted that seems to have a real boner against Leung Ting and WT in general. IF they did pay that then they were probably stitched up, though saying that some of the guys I work with get paid over a £1000 (US$1600) a day and they are not unique in their field. And yes I am a WT student but would I pay that ? NO!!! privates with my sifu are £20 (US$30?) an hour which seems pretty reasonable. Personally if I did not like WT I would leave, do I think its the best system in the world ? probably not, the best WC ? Best how ? I like it and thats what matters to me !

Best Wishes to everyone
