Finally got one set up at home, so I'm working it into my daily routine.

How much do you guys work on it? I'm doing a couple hundred punches.

In my opinion this is enough. But remember, you should do the same number of punches in the air. I do it 50 hard punches to the wall bag, 50 in the air, 50 to the wall bag, 50 in the air and so on. Sometimes I make it a 100 on the wall bag and a 100 in the air.

This is the way we use the wall sandbag:

We start an arm's length away in goat riding stance. Work up to doing 1000 straight punches per arm. When you can do 1000 punches and ALL of them have enough force that you can feel the recoil from them, move a little closer to the bag. Repeat this progression until you are right in front of the bag only a few inches. This trains your short power. Though it is important not to neglect practicing air (speed) punches also. 1000 punches isn't as many as it sounds, you can do both arms in about 15-20 minutes if you keep up a moderate pace.
