Hi Firehawk - nice post!

Does anyone know what the above-mentioned set "Day Sark Kuen" would translate to? Possibly Dok Se (Poison Snake)?

Anyone practice this set?

Literally it is translated as 72 Earth Demons'fist

In Chinese mythology, the star constallations are divided into many ways. One of them is the 108 constallations (sound familiat?) ;) which is consisted of 2 major systems - 36 Tin Gong (Haven)and 72 Day Sark (Earth). They also each represent a warrior who was killed in action during an epic war between the Shang and Chow dynasties. Many great souls were killed during that war. In order to "calm" the spirits, they were honored as gods (or guidien spirits). The title of the form simply borrowed (like a metaphor) to show the many ground fighting tech. Bak Mei.

Fire Hawk,

Nice post. BTW, the list of Sigung's son is mixed with weapons as well. They are not all hand forms in this list.

Well I admire your ability to cut and past lists of sets from other peoples websites. Now that you have listed the sets from Sifu CS Tang and others what exactly is your question? Or have you just listed the names of the sets for discussion?

Cheers, R

Hi - and thanks Mantis 108,

Could you tell me how (and if) this set is different than "Shek Ji Sup Yee Dai Chut" - or "Teacher Shek's 72 Earth Ghost" Form (i.e. "Stone Lion")?

Are they just different ways of saying tomato? There are interesting stories about the orgins of this set, not much different than Sup Ji....

Cheers - kevin

Does Eddie Chong do Futsan Bak Mei, I only know it is from Master Lau Siu Leong from guangzhou brought it with him in 1965 to Futsan.

In chinese it is Hua Bao (literally Flower Leopard/Panther), however in english you could change flowery panther to fanciful panther I guess. I tend to use direct translations so that the chinese is kept in tact.

i think 7 point plum blossum is dragon style too, maybe from clc or lyg? Well there is a lot of Mei Hua and Hua Quan in LY so it is possible to be from one or another but given the sharing amongst these two it would be typical.

Fiercest Tiger,

interesting. Are you referring to the Ng Fa Pow(5 flower leopard) form of Ying Jow Pai?(I'm not sure if it is originally a Ying Yow form or borrowed from another style).

Does anyone know why only a few schools claim 5 element Rubbing/Ng hang Mor?
Also, the schools that do have this form place it with the advanced forms and I'm wondering why more school don't have it. Anybody have any history on this form?

Mantis108,

If you're still around, can I ask you if you ever learned this form from Chow Fook? I think I remember you saying that he was your sifu. Please pardon me if I'm mistaken.

Thanks,

Jorge/Buby

It occurs to me that if you learn sets the way I've been taught them, call it old school or if you like 'properly' I will have to live to see my 743'd birthday to have learned this many.

I know this is an old post but does any one have any info on the mentioned sifu Toddy Lau and/or the 5 forms listed under him. These 5 forms are from my lineage and I would like to find out more.

Thankyou!
