Should I be concerned that my joints seem to make a cracking sound when I move them in certain ways? The worst is my hip joint, it doesn't hurt but it's uncomfortable when it pops, will I need a hip replacement when I'm older?

From what various doctors and chiros have told me, the popping and cracking sounds are not usually a major concern. None has ever told me they are an indication of potential problems in later life. I've had a few over the years, and at 47 I remain flexible and move easily. If anything, a lot of the joint problems I had in my youth have got better, not worse, and I'm training as hard as I ever did.

A course of joint rotations (in your case, hip circles, rotating each leg as far as possible around the hip, etc.) and general flexibility training should gradually reduce the cracking sounds and help you to move easier.

That's my opinion. If you are still worried, talk to a doctor.
