Peace!!...

He stayed with the opera troop until 1935, when he moved to the United States. Late in 1938, he joined a group of men being trained as pilots to fight the Japanese in China. This group of pilots later became known as the famous Flying Tigers. He became a fighter pilot flying missions over the south of China. He joined the Chinese Nationalist Army Air Corps in 1941 and worked his way through the ranks to colonel. After the Japanese were defeated, he became the personal pilot and bodyguard of my father, General Ku Ding Haw. They became close friends over the next four years.

the date on that picture is 1942, and Mr.Ming it says was thier in 1941, so unless the flying tigers is a huge fraternity, bj its very well that guy may know kf, and possibly wich would be a crazy fluke maybe he learnt from ngming?:)

Diego,

Unless I am wrong, but the "Flying Tigers" were an American air combat unit, I believe they only had American avaitors.

I believe this joe is just guarding our planes. On the aspect of combatives, the stuff Rovere talks about would be more what this solider was trained in then any classical gong fu system, that is unless he had family training of course.

Cheers,

The picture is really cool though. I was going to post a bunch of marine raider pics but I got to go and they are not working for some reason.

Met a Flying Tiger and a Merril's Marauder two weeks ago at work. The CBI (China ,Burma, India Group) meets at the restaurant I work at. I was very proud and honored to meet that group and their wives. All great people. A member of the Maine CBIs was there with his wife and met the Vermont group. What a great day!:p :p :p
