If the world champion welter weight champ lived in your city...would you train with him?

I am a wing chun guy but I like mauy tai alot...and this is what this guy is...and he teaches people at his gym...I have been thinking about it lately...

I saw him fight also...it was great...

do both....you CAN utilize sticking hands to your advantage in ring sports....do it. Do your wing chun....cross train in muay thai...ordinarilly I would say stick with wing chun, but he's a world champion fighter....wing chun uses the same punches and elbows..what could you lose?

only prob is that your Sifu might think you wont pass it on for the future and stop teaching with detail. No one wants to waste their time.

MJ:
take the others advice, Go for it. But remember they are two seperate styles do them seperately do not mix them.
My two cents.:D

Yeah I'd do them both if I had the money and the time. But maybe ask your Sifu if he would mind.

Or do you think the answer would be no?

The fact that he is a world champ does not necesserily make him a good teacher...but try him and find out. We have some people here in DK practising MT and WT...i have sparred and fought with some of them...it makes a nasty combo:)

Sounds like a cool place. Do you have any info about this school, such as its address, or phone number, or who the instructor is? I live in Amherst and I've been looking for a good Muay Thai school for a while now. Any info would be appreciated.
