Getting no respect is my favorite thing about taiji. It's so fun when someone says 'You can't really fight like that, though' and then you put 'em in a wrist lock that has 'em grinding their molars flat trying not to scream.

Don't worry about that. The irony in all of this is that internal arts are more popular in Japan. That's why you can see xing yi, ba gua, and taijin in Dead or Alive 3, which in my oppinion was the best representation of a taiji fighter in the video game genre.
