What other styles utilize similar practices to push hands? Not meaning things like wing chuns sticky hand drills, which are predetermined motions, but free form practice that is conducted under set conditions.

It probably made more sense when I just said push hands. Ah well.

Anyway, the art I study does. Its generally called sticky hands, but there aren't set patterns, its a free form practice.

Doesn't mantis have something similar? Not just drills, but a more live practice?

KC - us WC guys do "freeform" type stuff. Some do refer to this as sticky hands but most call it sparring. It starts out like sticky hands drills but goes free form, with the object of defense/offense, gettting your opponent off root, etc.......

In aikido we have ju-waza, free techniques.

Attackers come, defender blends and counters.

In Hsing-I we practice a number of single and double hand push/sticky hand exercises. Some are as soft as Yang Tai-chi push hands while others are quite agressive.

In CGSPM we have set sensitivity drills some are light and some with force, we also have jongs that start out as drills then as you progress you become more free until you are both utilising what you have learnt in the set drills but at random. Then we have tempting hands at a soft level it's almost like tai chi pushing hands completely freeform no set movements. Then this steps up until becoming more like sparring.
