Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make my waxwood staff flimsy? I heard special oils are soaked into the staff. I also heard you can leave it in the bathroom while running the shower. I haven't tried this in fear off my staff getting bent and not bending back. Any suggestions?

I sometimes soften my staff in the shower, but I have to harden it first. Just rub it vigorously with a soapy hand and tight grip.

I apologize to everyone, but most especially Northernboxer.:D ;)

I think this fear is common to most men.

Now I'm starting to feel really bad. Surely someone out there has better info to offer than jokes about growing hair on your palms.

In all reality, skin oil, perspiration, age, usage and wear is the best way to "soften" a staff.

Why do you want a flimsy staff?

Just curious...
