There is a need to bring up the issue of distorted Hung Gar history again because the only way to resolve it is to find out the one and only one truth. Otherwise, the same wound would not heal for another 50 years. Arguments still go on and on. We want open discussion and proves to resolve the issue.

No offense to Lam Jo as a sifu, but it is he who started the whole debate when he published his memorial book with manipulated sifu/disciple information on it about 50 years ago. Several people, including Chiu Kau, instantly published statements on newspaper to clarify their relationship with their real sifu. Unfortunately, Lam Jo kept on agitating the issue by spreading his false claims to his students and others through public media and publications. Some of these people, especially his students, believe in his lies and put those false claims on their websites. Worse, these people are not going to let Lam Jo admit his misbehaves because of their personal gains. Would Lam Chun Fai let Lam Jo admit it?

The statement between Lam Chun Fai and Frank Yee is not going to settle things down. What does "Each Hung Gar lineage has its own teaching and history" mean? Does it mean everybody can distort history for their personal gain? There is only one history, one truth. Also, the statement does not include Chan Hon Chun and Chiu Kau. I am definitely eager to join the discussion to draft such a statement, but the rudeness from Lam Chun Fai blocked me from doing so. There are new postings after the release of the statement with the same false claims on a Czech website run by Lam Chun Fai's people. How can the issue be settled?

We have Chiu Kau and Lam Sai Wing photo in traditional sifu sitting disciple standing pose. Lam Jo needs to provide the same photo if he wants to make his claim. We also have lots of Ng Shui Hong photo to prove that he is a disciple of Chiu Kau instead of Lam Jo. In terms of witness proves, we have a joint statement by multiple lineages. If Lam Chun Fai cannot prove it, let Lam Jo prove it. If Lam Jo cannot prove it, he should apologize to the martial arts world. Everybody does something wrong and it is those who has courage to admit gain people's respect.

You know that spending all this time worrying about that which only concerns others and not yourself is taking away from your practice time. :)

Let those who are directly involved work it out amongst themselves.

IMHO, it is of little or No concern to any of us who were not members of the original school, so who are any of us to say anything about any of this argument that is predominantly carried on by students of students of students???

The art is the point. And your lineage will not make you a better practitioner.
