Its translated as Jin-Gong, this appears to look somewhat like Chen style. I always new Shaolin to be both internal and external, but from may understanding mostly the Shaolin descendant kungfu styles( kungfus made outside the temple) are more on the external level, like Choy li Fut, and Eagle. Does anyone know if Chen Wan Ting may of added Diamond fist in making Chen Style Taiji

As for Chen TaiJi and Shaolin influences.

Very likely as they were not that far apart.
According to some Histories some MA came to the Chen Village from Shaolin:
Shaolin Cannon pounding art
elements of Shaolin Red Fist

So yes, it is quiet possible that the arts resemble each other.

From what I can gather the MA practiced at the Chen Village had a few influences from a number of sources.

Personally, not too glued up on Chen TaiJi(currently looking for a Chen Kwoon in my neighbourhood)

Shi Guolin told me it was related to the Diamond sutra but I've never quite figured out the complete connection. Of course, I've only read the sutra and seen the form. Perhaps if I learn the form....
