ouch - the warm up nearly killed me I think :)
Training with a Rickson school - nice class size (8 people plus instructor)
anyway - had lots of fun, trained for 3 hours, my stomach and neck are sore though :)
Seems very complimentary to the Taiji I study - I was fine in the stand-up and clinching. Once I hit the deck it wasn't quite so easy but that's why I'm there. In the throws and clinch I could definitely feel some of the cleverness that comes from sensitivity - my centre was being manipulated quite deliberately.
Anyway I enjoyed it immensely and was pleasantly surprised by the students in there - I have to admit I was expecting neanderthal thugs (at first sight were a couple) but they were nice guys happy to help a newbie. The instructor especially impressed me - despite the cauliflower ears :)
I would recommend it to people who want something to complement their stand-up - I'm not selling it as something everyone must do or anything. Just saying it was nothing like I expected...
