Ling, how do you make your tone symbols when you type? I noticed it on your Siu Lam Hung Ga post.

Hi Paul,

I know your post actually is for Ling.

But I can answer it too, so I will (I hope you don't mind).
In Dutch (and most other European languages) we use ï (alt + 0239), é (alt + 0233) etc.
(Keep "alt" pressed and type the numbers on the numeric block - num lock on)

To find the codes, you can look for a file called "character map" on you rcomputer, or check Word (Insert - symbols / Latin, adn then check for hte quick code).
Hope this helps.

Yes, so I ask again, how do you make the san sheng symbol? It's the one I'm having difficulty finding.

By the way Charris, how's everything going? Haven't heard from you in a while.

Hello Paul,

I saw that Charris already answered your posting.
It's all a matter of using the right keys. For instance:
Ctrl+',A and Ctrl+:,I ...etc... will give you certain vowels via a quick code method.

I use Word and you can also insert certain symbols. Only there is no quick code for the vowel (tone symbol) you asked me.

Hope this will be of any assistance to you.

Hi Paul,

In my Dutch and Chinese Wordprocessor they are automatically there under normal codes.
But at my work (US version) the falling - rising symbols are under "latin - extended A" in the character maps.
Hopefully you can find it now.

Hi Eddie,
you can find me in Ermelo (same name as a a village in SA:) and in Utrecht.

Charris,
my grandfather is from Rotterdam, came here as a little boy(he passed away three weeks ago). My family is still pretty strong on their Dutch routes, and we have some family still there.

Didn't know there is an ermelo in Holland.

Geniet jou dag.
