Medicinal fists

Hi, there's a well-respected Tai Chi and Chinese Doctor near me, he teaches all 4 major Tai Chi styles as well as a few other forms, a set of which is called Medicinal Fists forms, and there are I think over twenty of these. I assume they are short forms like the silk-reeling exercises. Anyhoo, do you guys know what Medicinal fists is all about? Perhaps for massage therapy?

I wonder if these are more the qigong exercises that the standard tai ji forms.....
