I am curious about Shaolin Kung Fu...I know there are many variations but in general, what are the strengths of shaolin style/s? I have heard that it usually takes a long time before one is able to effectively apply the techniques in real fighting situations (at least a few years?). I am definitely interested in the philosophical aspects and health benefits (improved flexibility, etc.).
I am probably not as serious as many of you (2 classes per week, practicing 1-3 hrs each day) but I have really beginning to love what I am learning. After class, I feel energetic and mentally relaxed at the same time. And then a bit later I feel sore.
Let me know what you have gotten out of learning Shaolin KF.
Any info or your experiences I would appreciate...thank you
