OK, here's the proper answer:

The forum was moved from a different hosting service about a year or so ago. During the move, some user details got stuffed up. Among those were the registration dates for some of the users.

So that is the real answer. Happy now?

P.S. You still suck :D

Actually they are deceiving you.

The different date shows who is a member of the TOP-SECRET KFO TONG.

Very hard to get in there, but once in EVERYTHING will be revealed.

You will learn how to beat BJJ, MMA and any other style in 3~5 seconds.

Cheers.

Howdy Ryu,

Mousels has been in the sh*tter long before I showed up and for ahwhile there alot of my friends from other forums was joining to get the place going again and Tim gave me alot of Leeway as far as letting me do my own thing there BUT some retards started complaining and that bonehead terry the moderator started deleting my threads. Especially one of my favorite ones "Tong Po: The Father of MuayThai" when it was starting to become a HOT topic. Ill prolly go back there once the mods calm down but till then Ill be on most likely every forum yall are on.

Most people confuse the World Wide Web with the Internet.

The WWW only uses the Internet as does FTP, E-Mail, Gopher and many other tools.

Computers exist for quiet a long while and I was lucky enough to work once on an old one.

Heck, most people today won't even recognise the names of my first Computers.

Commodore C64 & Sinclair Spectrum ZX80.

Aaah, the good ol' times.

Cheers

Ha! I had a VIC-20 with a whopping 8k of RAM memory! We accessed programs with a cassette tape drive! We programmed in BASIC!

A friend of mine still has a working Atari 400, complete with program cartridges and that membranous 'McDonalds Register' type keyboard.

Ahhhhh....technostalgia!

I mean, sheeeeeyit....I remember IBM punch cards! And playing 'ZORK' on a teletype terminal in Berkeley in the late 70s (I was just a kid)

I really should have developed some skills in computers at some point, though. Since I'm a bum, I never did.

Yep, used those in my first Job, even copied Dat-Tapes to Tape reels for processing.

But Punch Cards are great fun unless you drop a large Job.

Sure do.

The days when you got Game code in magazines and spend hours typing it in.

Or doing "upgrades" by modifying the circuitry Board rather than buying Accessories.

All it needed was a pocket-knife and some Nail varnish.

Some of those old Games still rock today.

Cheers.

I think I have a magazine talking about when MICROSOFT first started. With a picture of a very young Bill Gates on it. For some reason I kept it and haven't used it for a dart board yet.

I was the envy of all my friends cos I was the first to get a ZX Spectrum Plus! And I had that big old bonus RAM pack that you plugged in the back.

Yep, I'm a veteran too. Fetch me my slippers!

I owned a Tandy as well back in 1987. I never could figure out how to work it though and besides the games sucked anyway.

Saw a modle 3 in the museum, and almost cryed!!

Hey, can anyone say E.N.I.A.C.?? now THATS and old PC!!!

The www is part? of the internet?? I though they were the same thing???

Shadow Dragon

Royal Dragon.

The internet dates back to the old ARPANET system (around 1960).

Way back than it was still only BBS, FTP, etc and all text based Interfaces.
At that time Graphics Terminals were VERY expensive and most people used monochrome Monitors or similar.

The WWW is bassically just a GUi interface slapped on top of all the existing stuff with a few added features.

Yeah, baby way back than it was only the "DARK PLACE".

Than came the Hercules monitor, CGA, EGA, VGA & Super VGA.

Cheers.

heh. I had an atari, a tandy 1000sx and a TIMEX sinclair. yes, you heard me, a TIMEX, as in the watch manufacturers. How many of you can say that? it had cassette tapes that were used to run programs.

Shadow Dragon

I remember loading Software via my Tape recorder.

Alwasy wanted the Commodore with the build in Tape-Deck.

It was noisy and took a loooong time, and sometimes we had to load the same Software multiple times due to loading errors.

BTW, I sometimes accidently overwrote programs with Music and vice versa.

Cheers.

P.S.: For the old-timers, I still got a few 8-inch Floppies at home.

Shadow Dragon,

Don't you mean DARPANET?

Never got to see the built in tape deck but used to use the external ones. "Darts" was in it more than anyother software, mainly becaues it WORKED most of the time.

I still got boxes of old computer junk.

Oh and for games AMIGA COMPUTER games RULED!!!!!!!!

Shadow Dragon

Asia.

ARPANET pre-dates DARPANET.

Basically the same thing though.

I used to like playing Oregon Train on the C64. My first computer I had at home was a 286/5MB HD/256K RAM. Yeah baby!

I had the Timex Sinclair 80. Tiny little McDonald's touch pads, no cooling system, came with a chess game on tape. Because the computer had no cooling system, the system always crashed about three seconds after the chess game was done loading.

I was good at speed chess.

Then an IBM, I don't even remember what model, but I'd play "Wizardry" on it, every time you encountered a monster, there was a graphic in the corner of the screen that represented that monster. All of those graphics looked like what a tuberculosis victim coughs up on a bad morning.

Amiga saved me. Speedball. It Came From The Desert. Flood.

Is anyone else's bursitis acting up?

HA !!! I *still* have my Timex Sinclair - with the 8k memory expansion ... AND a couple of program tapes --- AND an Amiga !! Gawd, I should clean up my place !!!
There in my back yard in the trunk of my Gremlin - which is next to the Pacer. Luck for me I also had all my old bell bottom jeans. I knew those would come back in style! ...now if I can just stretch them out a little .....

...but seriously, I began programming computers in 1978, so..... it was mainframes though - - was soooo cool when we got the first "PC" in the offices.
Anyone remember the first laptops? Actually they just called them "portables". Yup, the ole Compaq portable. The size of large processor now, weighed about 40 pounds. More like "luggable" - that's what we called 'em - but at least you *could* take it with you.

Shadow Dragon
08-28-2002, 02:02 PM
Don't remember the Compaq.

First portable I knew was the Olivetti M21.

Cheers.
