This weekend I visited the museum and it is holding a show displaying antiquities of a previously unknown civilization that existed in Sichuan/Szechuan china in and around 1200 b.c.e The pieces have been kept in a museum in China since their discovery in 1986.

About the weapons, most of the bronze weapons were halbierds, spears and axes. No poles were left so it was the weapon heads only. They were in sets of five which i found interesting.

There was a sword that appeared not unlike a roman short sword or Gladius in the shape of the blade and handle, pretty cool. There were also jade ceremonial knives and a set of double daggers in a bronze sheath. These had the look of throwing knife type blades. They also had holes through the handle ends.

And of course, very brutal looking spear and halbierd heads.

If you get the chance...

Cool, looks sort of Aztec-ish.
