Could somebody please tell me what are the major characteristics of this style? I have heard that it is very similiar to white eyebrow and Ed Parker's American Kenpo. Thanks in advance.

WT is a southern chinese internal art.
It develops a high level of internal force, iron forces training and contains a lot of herbal knowledge. Also uses many types of meditations(moving, standing, seated, laying) for chi development.
Combatively, lots of low kicks to take out the legs, very fast hand strikes, application of ging.
Very cool weapons training too.

Out of curiousity, why is this style not commonly mentioned with the other main three internal styles, Bagua, Xingyi, Tai Chi?

Why would those three styles not recognize it as a fellow internal art?

This is not a troll bait. No flames please.

Only a stupid, racist, ignorant, BJJ dryhumping f@ggot who likes to crash jetliners into nursery schools would ask a question like that. You're just like Hitler.

Some answers:

White Tiger Kung Fu is not the same as the Kenpo style of the same name. Throughout the west coast there are 'bak fu pai' kenpo schools that do not practice a Chinese art, but rather Tracy's Kenpo. Which is a VERY different animal. The Kenpo training is completely different from the Hakka style in every way possible.

'Real' Bak Fu Pai is a hakka style similar to Bak Mei Pai. Hakka styles are often called 'internal Shaolin' by their various proponents. But, because they utilize tension as well as relaxation in thier gings - they are often 'not' considered internal by TJ, BGZ, XY schools. A common thread in the Northern 'internal' schools is the absence of tension, hence the exclusion by them. Nontheless these Southern Hakka styles have very impressive nei gung practices.

LOL- I fought a guy when I moved to the West coast - he told me he did Bak Fu Pai. I took it seriously as Hakka players are very dangerous. I blew through him effortlessly - like walking through a wet paper bag. He had this terrified look on his face - I couldn't beleive he dropped so easily - it was then I discovered he did Bak Fu Kenpo - not the Hakka style of the same name. If I had known he wasn't a Hakka style I would have played more friendly. (lesson: play rough with Hakka players or they won't respect you.)

This is the "triad" they mention in their fairy tale history. The three roots dont graft themselves onto a a chop suey tree trunk. Its the other way around.

The only thing "internal" about it is a bunch of crypto buddhist and taoist meditations, which borrow heavily from non-chinese rituals (eg. tibetain) and a considerable amount of influence from the Li and Wu (manchu) tai chi styles.

The latter has all the 5 elements of hsing-i and the 8 mother palms of at least 3 systems of bagua, iron body, specialises in using short power (shattering palm), single man push hands exercises like the Yong chun "air dummy" and more... (whats so big about Sun style?)

Check out this qigong form. "tiger tai chi". Har har.

Now change a few moves and label it "shattering palm" meditation (check Jim laceys iron palm site for the white tiger shattering palm meditation). Add some 'breath control' sequences and Sell it for $6,000 to some wannabe with daddys gold card...

Of course, Jim laceys form probably isnt the **REAL** white tiger shattering palm meditation... And of course, none of the anti-lacey white tiger guys would even bother showing you the "real" form.

Why give it away for free when you paid for it?

White tiger... Put a fork in it, its done.

White Tiger Kung Fu(Bak Fu Pai) is similar to other Southern systems. Shuffle steps to maneuver closer as well as maintain your optimum balance. Hand and body conditioning to train the anatomical weapons to be more destructive than those untrained as well as training the practioner to absorb more punishment. It has many levels of Hei gong to train your fighting gings in various ways as well as better health and greater longevity.

For the record, James Lacy is nothing, and has absolutely nothing to offer a true martial artist. Unless you are among the slugs who have visions of grandeur while drooling over the latest dim mak tape he creates from his unstable mental state.

Turiyan, it has been a while. Still watching your crap-fu videos from Jim? How is your mother doing? Sorry, stick-boy I could not refuse when you spout off the p-o-o.

Lacy claims to have studied for 10 years under the Grandmaster of Bak Fu Pai to become the GM of the so-called Sup Bat Mo Jung Pai, which for the record is a form from Yip Pui's Chow Gar Tong Long Pai of Southern Mantis. The GM has washed his hands of this vermin a long time ago. Anyone who invests his money in Jim's garbage deserves whatever ill effects his training will induce.

He had an article in the latest BB where he smashes a coconut against a tree with his arm and claims it to be some internal skill. He is a joke to anyone with authentic training and some brains in their head.

He used to have this huge head of hair and is losing it fast as his Qi/Hei is not so well trained. Go figure....

Budokan -

it was a perfectly good question. I just can't resist 'no flames please.'

Dale, nice comments.

To everyone, if you want information about a system, go directly to the source. The Grandmaster. Find out who he wants to have representing him and talk to those people because a Grandmaster likely won't have time to talk to everyone who wants information.

Stop excepting peoples enverified statements as fact. Most of us are looking for enlightenment. Start simple by learning to see the truth and lies in others, like Lacy. If you can't tell that Lacy is full of it, you've got a long way to go.
