This question looks similar to what buddahpalm asked in an earlier posting about Ma Wing Jen.

I posted all I could find on him in Buddha palm's earlier post of the same subject.

In the end I discovered that MA Wu Hsia novels were written about him way back when.
It put everything into doubt.

The movies most likely were adopted from the books.
Also the story including his sister settling the score is most likely part of the novels.
