Its a Japanese anime. Basically a shinto East of the Sun West of the moon with some trixter thrown in. Mix that with the "Kwaidan" traditional Japanese ghost stories of goblin heads that bite and you have a universal subcontious sufley. Go see it and bring a Jungian...its a great flick that sticks with you...you WILL dream about it.

Personally, I found it one of Studio Gibhlis poorer offerings.

Just couldn't get into this one as much as their other movies.

But than the time of Miyazaki & Takahata has come to an end.

I would not recommend it for a 2yr old.
Most of their movies are not intented for the little ones, like the majority of Anime.

Mine watched only the first 10 minutes before he asked me to turn it off.
