sweet! I'm there, dude. It's obvious...he's going back in time to save the future savior of the world's mother from evil government agents, who have also sent back killers to make sure that the savior is never born. duh. If we succeed, the world will be totally different, because the savior will have changed things already...but the government had already done the deed years ago. We only recently got our hands on the antiquated time travel devices which were used by the government years ago, and for what purpose they were designed...so we've decided to put things aright. Oh yeah, the time and place is Fukien province, China, year 1850.

Hey, that happened to me too!!! I was turned down for a trip. Funny, I never applied for one. Maybe if I send this guy a letter it will all make sense??

you might as well burry the letter in a plastic bottle in your back yard... eventually some archiologist will find it and forward it to the appropiate time traveling postal service, who will get the letter to it's source faster than normal postal delivery ever could.... and you would save 37 cents...
