Hi All,
One of my friends is thinking of buying one of these machines. It seems to be a rip off of the bowflex, it costs a crap load less though. He rarely has time to hit the gym as he works two jobs. So he asked me what I thought about it and I'm stumped ya'll. Anyone here use these things yet? What did you guys think of the bowflex? As it is a ripoff of it, it probably works similar.

I think it would be a better investment for your friend to purchase a bench with weights (olympic weight set) and some dumbells. It'll only set him back a couple of hundred bucks instead of $500...
I own a bowflex and feel it's a pretty decent piece of equipment, but definitely not worth the money. I also have a olympic set of weights, which I occasionally use for deadlifts and a few other exercises.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply. He says he wants to be able to do full body workouts, it was the real part that sold him. Hard to do with just a bench and weights. I have heard that the bowflex's tend to be a high price too.
I've never used one myself, but people here tend to have mixed feelings on them so I wasn't sure what to say regarding the feel of the resistance. I will pass it along though as I see your point.

No problem bro'.
I strongly recommend staying away from machines... BUT, I guess the question is "what is your friend training for?"
Is he looking at bodybuilding, training for strength, overall fitness etc.?
Imho, if he wants to do a full body workout, he can save his money and just buy a pull-up bar, an ab wheel, a set of dumbells and he's ready to go...

That's dumb. You can get a full body workout with just freeweights. With just a barbell and plates for that matter.
