This January the Wong Fei Hong Memorial in Fu Shan City has been opened. August the 27th is Wong Fei Hong`s birthday and to celebrate this day Fu Shan City will host the 1st World Wong Fei Hong Kung Fu Convention (2001).
The Fu Shan Culture Office in Guang Dong put Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling in charge of organisation of this fantastic event. The Government supports this commemoration of this chinese folkhero Wong Fei Hong. Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling who is in direct lineage of this great hero Wong Fei Hong is very proud of leading this real special event. Hung Gar practitioners and friends from all over the world are invited to attend this great occasion. All the Kung Fu people can meet each other and discuss together, to make more friendship and cooperation between all the different associations. This promises to be the first and largest event dedicated to celebrate Wong Fei Hong and Hung Gar Kung Fu.
From Hong Kong Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling will guide the participants to Fu Shan City where the main attraction will be the visit of the newly decorated Wong Fei Hung Memorial and different Kung Fu Master-demonstrations, you will see a lot of fotographies and documents of Hung Gar history. A lot of TV-stars, press and TV-stations will be there to follow the festive actions.
After this event you have the great opportunity to travel arround China for arround 8 days with Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling itselfs as your chairperson. The trip will include sightseeing to Beijing, Shanghai, the Siu Lam Temple and many things more. So the whole journey will dure arround 12 days, if you attend everything.
