I would like to ask about any styles that use ribbons or sashes as weapons. And if there are, what techniques or self-defense aplications there are. ;)

I remember reading about some assassins in india who would use scarves.

Sevenstar is speaking of the Thugee ( a cult of assassins). They strangled victims with their sash.

Many styles of IMA and FMA make use of the sarong (sp.) as a weapon.

Some styles train with a modern belt as a weapon.

If you want to learn how to use a leather belt with a pewter frog belt buckle as a weapon, you must go to Texas to find John Wayne Taylor and his amazing weiner dog sidekick. :D

well i recently have taken up learning sash & scarf techniques, and i am creating a form to help me remember them. I am incorperating hising-i stances along with some tai chi influnced sensitivity training. any other suggestions?;)

The scarves failed to meet flammability standards

Ivanka Trump’s line of Chinese-made scarves are being recalled Wednesday for failing to meet the U.S. Federal Flammability Standard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that the scarves, produced in China and made completely from rayon, are a safety hazard, according to the New York Times.

“This is a dangerous product,” said Scott Wolfson, a spokesman for the CPSC.

Trump is the daughter of Republican front-runner Donald Trump, who frequently denounces the loss of American manufacturing jobs overseas.

The CPSC advises consumers to return Trump’s scarves for a full refund.
