In the book titled The art of Shaolin Kung Fu written by Wong Kiew Kit it says:
If you acquire psychic powers, which will normally happen as you progress in meditation, but use them for selfish or evil purposes, you will inevitably ruin yourself... has anyone developed psychic powers and what do you feel?

sensitivity, intuition, be sure that when you use such a word as psychic powers that you're clear on what you mean by it.

I have. I will tell you about them. It only costs 2.99 a minute, and you get the first 10 minutes free.

I've read that, too. Not in kung fu books but in buddhist ones. There was no warning that you would ruin yourself if you used them for evil. Cuz it's obvious and, in buddhism, you can't really ruin yourself, anyway. They simply warned that they would make it difficult for you to continue your practice. Becasue you would get all wrapped up in having these powers and thinking you were powerful.

It was high end stuff. They were talking about people who were trying to reach enlightenment. So, this would be the result of you spending a good chunk of your time meditating.

I wouldn't imagine anybody here spends hours a day in meditation.

You'd be surprised at the number of people that stare at a kfo screen for hours with empty minds. :)

I don't need to be psychic, the Leprechaun tells me everything I need to know.

Wait, I do that.

AHHHH! This explains how I knew with such certainty that my dog would love that green squeeky toy.

I predict this thread will turn into a comedy thread. Oh, wait a minute. That's not prediction, that observance. Apparently two hours of meditation a day (which I do) is not enough.

I knew somebody would come on and make a liar out of me.

Does that mean I'm.....

Nope. Too easy.

You gave my squeaky toy to your dog?

That does it. I'm not your friend anymore.

Clarity and acute awareness is often said to be "psychic" simply because most people aren't paying attention.

David Blaine(sp?) is coooooooool :D
