Does anyone do it? How does it differ from northern methods? Did it enter your system from a northern style or has it always been there?

My style has one, specifically the Lion Head Sword. Compared to the northern sets I have read about, there is shorter more compact movements, but these are subtle differences. The nature of the weapom itself requires space to move.

The biggest difference is in the way the sword is held, and the placement of the second-open hand (the name for the hand escapes me at the moment, hidden sword?) where it is touching the handle of the sword, in the Lion Head Sword, the open hand remains to the side for blocking.

Hey ben, if you go to the origins of hung gar sets thread, we start talking about a hung gar straight sword form called Kwanlun Gim.
