A penpal in Portland was asking me about what to do if she's interested in taichi. I ran a quick google search and came up with

http://i-chuan.net/
and
http://www.cloudwater.com

At a glance, I thought Fong's place looked really good. I happen to have family up there and if I visit them for the holidays might go looking for a place to train temporarily. Anybody know more than is evident from the site? I really liked his essay on Principles of i-chuan. It's a bit long and in pdf format, but worth the time I think.

edited for correct urls and names

Just one more bump to be on the safe side, then I'll let it sink forever.

A little help over here?

Another bump, and a thanks to IM Toast, who came up with the idea I should've had yesterday. As a very great man once said:

D'oh!

I've never met the guy, but we share a space with him, and my teacher says that he's only heard good things of him. Not, mind, that we have much basis to compare from.

Duh. I can post his class schedule Monday if you like. (It's posted on the door and I can check it when I show up there to train in the morning.) I recall seeing I-chuan, Yang, Chen taijis, and some sort of Mantis listed as classes.

I'd offer to hang out then, but i'm often gone on "holidays", in this case from Wednesday night to Monday morning for Thanksgiving, and from 12/13-1/5 for Christmas. That pretty well encompasses the "holidays".

A red flag pops up. He's pictured in the book Empty Force.
