I want to get a leg stretcher for my own personal use, but I noticed they are expensive. Considering that it's just a chair with stirrups and a crank, I hadn't expected to pay more than $100-$150, but I see that they are at least $200-250 for a decent one. Has anyone seen the mechanical ones for cheaper anywhere? If not, can you recommend a good alternative? I practice with split stretches, but that makes my ankles sore. Thanks.

Dude, save your money and buy a good reference book and/or video on stretching. I recommend the books/videos by Pavel Tsatsouline and Thomas Kurz. I have heard ok things about Matt Furey's stretching materials as well.

trying to get that ever-important 25% raise from gene (i'm starting at $0, so this should be a nice increase ;) ), i have to plug this (http://store.yahoo.com/martialartsmart/20-60.html).
i haven't seen them anywhere outside this price range, though. if you're not ready to spend that much money, try finding one used.
