I notice that whenever I practice a form I always seem to lose breath afterwards...especially when the form is extra long.

I already breath every time I execute a move but I still get out of breath after a while.

My friend said I should imagine two punches one right and one left. With one punch breath from the diaphram and the other breath from the chest.

What do you guys think?

you're going anaerobic and your body is starving for oxygen because your muscles are taking it all. The machine demands fuel when it performs so to speak.

walk it off, do qigong, slow yourself down and normalize your breathing.

if you want to do forms full blast with less effort then you just have to keep practicing :D

endurance needs to be trained too, training it with/through form work will strengthen everything about your form.

Don't breath all the way out when you do your moves. Hold some in reserve. I'm still working on that one.
Also when you do a combo of moves, say 3, take one breath in and exhale 3 short breaths.
