UK peoples, check this out

ITV1 (channel three to you and me) are gonna have a show (drama i think? possibly a documentary but i doubt it) on at 10:30pm tonight about three kids who grow up on rival council estates in south london, in an area with one of the highest crimes rates in the UK.

something i can relate to, finally :rolleyes:

Man get this - i didn't even get to watch this ****ing show. I sit down to watch it... and see someone stading in my backyard... what the ****? I go milly and grab my maglite and i'm gettin ready to party and i'm all like "who the **** are you" he's like "go back inside, this doesn't concern you" i'm like "eh, no" and anyway to cut a really long story short, he says that he's a policeman - it was dark couldn't see what he was wearing.

so i whip out the celly and i call teh police and ask if there really is a policeman in teh back yard, they tell me there is. i go back out, ****ed off as hell, and this other guy goes pops out of nowhere and says go back inside this doesn't concern you. oh and by the way this whole time the next door neighbours dog is going MENTAL.

so now i'm thinking either a) they've come to put the dog down (hey, i didn't know did i?) or b) next door had been burgled. I had by this time switched all the lights off in teh house and was checkin **** out (i'm worried and concerned here cos i was burgled in my last house last year and i really wouldn't be able to stand getting burgled again). Then i go to my room (front top) and open the window. Police van screetches up to the house cops beat thru the neighbours house door, get the neighbour and cuff him, then drag him out (he didn't resist although i heard a scuffle next door but he wasn't resisting outside) and throw him in the van. then then bring out a few plastic bags full of 'stuff' - i over heard the police talking - turns out he has like 3 ounces of weed and a few kg's ok coke. apparently they could find 'the rest'. to me, it just screams the question 'why is he ****ing living here?'

I was actually relieved cos when i got my maglite (i keep a maglite accessable in every room) i thought it was time to rumble and had adrenaline in me ready to go - then turned out i wasn't fighting anybody and i had all this unused adrenaline in my body!

bleh. do i attract this kind of thing or something?

I caught the end of the show, it seemed ok, woulda been more interesting if the kids were a bit older than the ones they had on though.

i didnt see it either and the cops were outside my place too :eek: its coz someone had stolen a car and parked it near our halls to try and escape the cops, but the chopper followed them LOL then they tried to RUN :D:D

Sounds like the Cops were simply securing the perimeter.

Otherwise you wouldn't have seen him till it was too late.

I might have seen it before it it was, unless it was the first showing.....the one i saw was with some kids from kingsmead, in hackney where i live....but u gotta tell me:)

Though it still has some of the highest house prices in the country (in relation to land area) :confused: they'v been trying to gentrify it for years with no success

i been thru hackney and have mates that live in catford as well... not exactly the best places i ever been to. But at least its more 'alive' than some of these screwed up well posh areas i have also walked/been thru. :)

sort of know what you mean about the posh areas, even out of london, my step bro and his family moved out to duxford near cambridge, and all I see there is a bunch of teenagerswho do nothing but get stoned and listen to drum and bass all day, its really depressing.....which is the same as some areas in london- hamstead heath , etc.

And yes, dezhen, I remember the story about Sharky's flat. However, I still maintain that nothing over there is really a spider. Growing up in England I was a shocking arachniphobe. Then I moved to Australia and my arachniphobia was cured. It was that or die of sheer terror! There are spiders here bigger than my hand. We have spiders that could sit on your face with a couple of feet in each of your ears. We have tiny spiders that are the most venomous thing on the planet. We have 9 of the 10 most venomous snakes in the world, plus sharks and deadly jellyfish and scorpions.

Man, life here is like Russian roulette every day.
