My muslim friends told me that anything that contains even gelatine like Jelly babies and fruit gums are forbidden to them.

But they do make some great food, they often brought me some food back from when the went to mosque and we ate together at the Company.

when im back home im around an hours drive from Ayrshire :) Been there plenty of times when i was growing up not that theres much to see!

as far as i can tell, Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) is still pretty well known for his powerful poems/songs (for example about the Battle of Badr) but i havent heard any yet. I think he has done a lot to help teach others about Islam but im not so sure :)

Right now, I'm planning on going for about two weeks. Two or three days to hang out with a friend of mine who's going over for a family reunion, so she has someone to talk to who's not a family member, a week or so to visit with my friend in Ayrshire, and a few days to go to London, meet a friend of mine who's doing uni at Oxford/Cambridge, and hopefully meet up with a friend of mine who's right now in Germany in the Army (hopefully he'll have enough leave to come visit.)

I'll PM you when it's closer to the trip; right now it's far enough away that I don't really have details nailed down.

Any other UK KFO peeps are welcome to show up as well, of course. We could all get together for dinner and bull**** about MA all evening. And then go throw chi blasts at passing ducks :D

Scotty: well after 9/11 i started doing my own research i guess and have some good friends who are arabic. The more i saw about Islam the clearer it seemed, no matter what was being done in its 'name'.

Some people look at me differently, but at the end of the day im not really any different apart fomr the fact i dont eat pork (etc.), have a clear faith in God (the same one as christians and jews do) and pray 5 times a day (or as close ot 5 as i can make). Its really no big deal :)
