I refer to the mei wah or flower fist style of northern kung fu, not to a form within another style which contains the words mei hua.
If you have seen the style, what was it like?

There are a few styles of that name, try to be specific.Eg what area (Province or city even better) does it come from.

However there are the following main varieties :

Hunan MeiHua Quan as passed on by Wan Fu Zi it emphasises hand methods it is very direct and relatively simplein appearance. In combat it follows a strike, throw, Adhere, Kick, close in, sweep out philosophy. There are overten empty hand forms such as Yi TiaoQian, Er ShiQiangQiou, San DuoMeihuaZhuang.

In Jinan (Shandong) there the Meihua style passed on by YanZiJie
[A Picture of YanZiJie is attached] http://www.meihuazhuang.ca/professor.htm which is a very old style containing intricate stepping and a variety of material froms single forms to two man forms and weapons. Preferring angular methodologies rather than linear ones. Methods include Wu Shi Chun, Wu Shi Tou, Lao Jia(Old Frame) & Ba Wan Bu (80,000 Steps) also known as Mei Hua Zhuang Style http://www.meihuazhuang.ca/history.htm
It is explains the relationship to KunLun Sect (thought the style KunLunPai still exists today).

There as another MeiHuaQuan style from Gansu which claims origin at shaolin,it is very akin to the long fist variety of styles.

In Fujian there is also the MeiHuaQuan style which is again completely different emphasising solid footwork, fundamental functional attack and defense.

Anyways there are more but I'd be here for quite a while :-)

Hi Shaolin Master,

How's everything?
I seem to recall you mentioning once some Mehua influence in Lung Ying. Would you please care pointing out which Mehua style you had in mind. Or, may be you simply refered to the name of the advanced form of LY and not a different style?
Thank you in advance for the reply (helpful as allways).
Bye.

PS : I have tried to navigate your website without success. Is it offline at present.
