I finished reading the book "Chronicles of Tao" and it's a very very very good book. I've heard that Kwan Sai Hung is not all who he makes himself out to be .

Certainly it's a great book but I don't konw if this guy is all he's supposed to be. A few people have learned from him and if he's such a kung fu god, then they would have talked highly of him and been able to demonstrate SOME skill

What do you guys think?

IMHO

I think the book(s) was more about taoism and less about
kung fu/ma

I've read it 3 times.

funny, I was thinking about this book earlier...
...eulerfan, if you havn't read it you might check it out.

"The Chronicles of Tao" by Deng Ming Dao

this book would be my .02 on your 'universe speaks' thread

once isn't enough. 3 times isn't either.
I think it's a good story so I like to read it through
as a story vs. studying it per se. Although I did keep
a pen and highlighter close on the 3rd read.

It's a great book. I think it's one of those legends based on truth kinda scenarios. Take from it what you want.

I have a friend whom I trust implicitly...... He talks a lot of smack, but none of it has ever turned out to not be true.

He told me that Kwan hit him in the back so hard that it bruised his chest. My friend was a bouncer for years and lived in Japan. He knows what's what and doesn't tolerate BS, so take it for what it's worth.
