The Origin and Meaning of World Nam Wah Pai

The World Nam Wah Pai was established in 1964 by Grandmaster Sim Po Ho (Golden Belt 10 Dan) in Singapore. Today, Nam Wah Pai Branches have been established around the world, including Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Chile * Taiwan. The techniques and knowledge taught in Nam Wah Pai are the result of gathering the essence of Shaolin, Tai Ji and other traditional Chinese martial arts, culminating in the formation of this independent and unique system of martial arts, thus the name Nam Wah Pai.

At Nam Wah Pai, the art and knowledge are taught systematically, and are graded accordingly to a consistent system for the standards achieved. In the view of international organizational structure of the association, which spreads over more than seven countries, its name is also known as the "World Nam Wah Pai".

The World Nam Wah Pai's Taiwan organization concentrates mainly on imparting the art of "Tai Ji Gong", one of the arts of the association. It is therefore known as the "The Republic of China Nam Wah Pai Tai Ji Gong Association".

Based on the ultimate art and knowledge transcended through thousand years of real lineage, the Nam Wah Pai Tai Ji Gong uses a set of simple, easily understood and practical principals coupled with the teaching in a systematic way, from basic to advanced levels, delivered through a graded or examination system.

The aim of the World Nam Wah Pai is to advance and promote the traditional Chinese martial art and knowledge in a scientific and systematic way to the new world.
