The Lau Family Drunken Eight Immortals Style made famous by the priest of Mo Dog contain within its curriculum a very unique form called the 7 Star Stepping Form. This form is based on a series of movements around a specific arrangement of wine pots or bowls. A total of 7 pots or bowls are placed on the ground to help the student learn the appropriate flow of foot movements. The training is very intense and focuses on proper stance and flexibility of movements. It provides a solid footwork foundation that enables students to advance and retreat smoothly. The 7 Star Stepping Form also teaches agility, weight control and how to best use your footwork skills in a limited space. Upon the completion of this skill students are expected to comfortably manoeuver within the specific parameter as set by the pots or bowls and to understand each of the indiviual movements and how to interchangeably use them without loss of balance.
