Relax for speed. If you practise doing lots of chain punches (like several thousand without stopping) in a relaxed way, you'll be building up speed without realising it. It would be hard to do several thousand punches in a row if your arm and shoulder muscles were tense. If you consciously try for speed too early it might make you tense up and tension will slow you down. Speed will come with time without worrying about it.

Power comes from moving your arms in the right way supported by your body angled and moving in the right way. The slow section of SNT is the first step in developing power by training you to move your arms the right way along the centreline. Moving forward while punching puts your body weight behind it. Pivoting puts power into punches and other techniques. Punching from the centre gives it power because the body's behind it.
The back leg is angled back roughly at the same angle as the arms, with the weight on it (in my style). When you hit something, the back leg acts like a buttress and reinforces the power of your punch.

How do you figure out how much power you have in a punch??

Get someone to hold a punching pad and hit it.

Relaxation in the arm and shoulders is the key. You can also develop your triceps this will help.
