litterally ... for years ... we have had all these debates about kf vs bjj/mma/bjj. some of the more common arguements are that there are kf guys who would fu ck you up and name them.

at the same time i hear about sevenstar, and a few others who take fighting very seriously, getting togeather with monkey slap too and water dragon (or maybe it was royal dragon) and having nothing but respect for these guys. various other kfo members have gotten togeather with the same results.

so why does everone ask where these kf guys who can fight are? and why do people draw a blank on the defencive side?

... and before i get smacked down saying these guys cross trained .... no sifu worth a sh it would tell you that cross training was a bad idea.

that doesn't suddenly disqulify you from being a kf player.

Actually, it was Water Dragon AND Royal Dragon. Water Dragon walked the walk, I just socialised and complained about my back. :(

Oh well, next time I guess. My back is much better now, I just need to get my Kung Fu back.

The rest of the guys'll mess you up though :D

I think the FCC needs to install a breathalizer on GDA's computer that he has to blow in and pass before his computer will recognize input from the keyboard.

lmao ... yeah i was pretty drunk last night. at least its not every night anymore ay.

anyway, i was thinking about this before i got drunk. why does everyone act like these good kung fu guys are nowhere to be found when we have several right here on the boards. i understand the argument against keyboard warriors, but these guys have trained togeather in real life .... i guess they could all be pretending but i doubt it.

I think people who say there are no good KF players either

1. really mean to say "There are no good KF guys IN MY AREA"

or

2. they just aren't looking hard enough.

MSToo wouldn't try to fight his way out of a paperbag - he'd pull one of the four or so blades that he always carries and cut his way out

Actually, I find wet paper bags very daunting.

People are another matter.

GDA - I'm not a professional athlete, which is why you don't see me climbing into the pro-nhb ring. (And you wouldn't see me do it without crosstraining in NHB stuff, I wouldn't go play baseball by training in hockey.) In my younger days (although I'm not that old), I took advantage of what was available for free-fighting. I never said I was invincible, and I spar regularly with friends who are BJJ / Sambo types, and sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. Although I've never seen an MMA player who did well when I had a blade or two handy...

I'm just as disappointed as you are that there aren't more CMA types offering up instruction that would entice pro athletes into beleiving they can win. See all my other posts.

Personally, I think CMA has a lot to offer, so do IMA and TMA and gosh darnit Western combat sports as well. As far as I'm concerned good CMA is MMA. Of course you can't deny the wonderful innovations to ground work developed in the Brazillian world.

So that being said, I am hoping that some of the younger crowd will train hard and carry our banner. At least in the CMA I'm involved in there are some great solutions for the clinch, power throwing and striking ability that really do stand well on thier own.

Frankly, I'm thrilled that dedicated players who could so easily be blinded by MMA predujice come and train with me, and find value in the material. The value, is that they go try it out, and it works. So that is really a kudo to thier sharep minds and willingness to go an extra mile.

So...where's that paper bag?
