Ok guys my girlfriend is Canadian and has her heart set on going back in the next few years (we plan to have a kid by that time).

This leaves me in a odd situation. I have always said I would not start my own class but as my style is non existant in Canada I see no choice but to teach a class.

Ok now my questions.

1. What sort of interest is there in Tai Chi or San Shou in canada? (non hippy TTC BTW)?

2. how much would it cost to hire/buy a place to train?

3. Do people expect full time facilitys or are classes run from school halls?

4. How do i deal with the Iiritating French canadians?

Greetings from Canada,

Here are my thoughts on your questions:

1: likely the same level of interest in taijiquan and sanshou as in
any western nation.
2: this will depend on which city you will be in. The real estate
market in Toronto is much different from the market in Regina
(for example) In the city where I live, could rent a reasonable
space for $500. However, prices will vary in accordance with
what amenities are wanted in the space.
3: Most folks don't expect the training hall to be open all the time.
Most halls are open evenings only. A few local clubs do open
during the day as well - but this is not the norm.
3: Unless you are moving to Quebec (or possibly New Brunswick)
you are unlikely to experience a french language majority
population. English is the dominant language in every province
of Canada with the exception of Quebec.

Lio - Canada's a big country man. ;P It can _really_ vary depending on where you're going.

Might be some good places to start.

- Don't move to Quebec ;)

Southern Ontario's a good spot to check out , we be seroiusly lacking a variety of KF/MA schools in the Kitchener/Waterloo Region.
