Hi! Anyone here familiar with those machines used by chinese doctors and others? The main unit is about the size of two TV remote controls taped together side by side. Coming from the main unit are two wires that lead to two small squares that you put on your body. Electricity comes through the wires into your body in pulses. It is said to treat everything from arthritis to kidney yang deficiency to hair loss, or you can just put the squares anywhere on your body you have pain. The machine is said to combine all the benefits of accupressure, acupuncture, massage, tui na,..... It sells for about 150$ US. My friend has one and swears by it, I tried it and thought it was quite good.

Supposedly Jackie Chan really likes these machines and has the over 1000$ model, where you get in the bathtub, put the plugs in there, and treat your whole body simultaneously. Anyone here have any experiences/thoughts about these machines? thanks

There's nothing that specific about these divces as they are nothing more than either TEST machines or any model of electroacupuncture devies. Any model will do.

Repulsive Monkey-

What do you think about the usefulness of these machines, though? Good, bad, indifferent? thanks

If you are not strong enough to transmit your own qi through the needles then elctro-acpuncture is a good substitute as it can excite the points and get tha same results although not to the same intensity. A lot of good work has been doen with stroke victims with e-acupuncture with goof results.
