Broken ribs...

I thought a 16oz glove is supposed to give some protection!?!? A friend of mine got his ribs fractured by a reverse punch last night. Anyone have any recovery tips I should pass along to him from experience?

uh, the gloves are for protecting the hand of the striker.

The strikee is in no way protected from incoming objects...such as fists. :D

keep his elbows down on the body shots, try to take those in the shoulders and arms, swallow and spit on the body shots.

otherwise, tell him to see a doctor, get taped up and heal. cacked ribs are a bugger but they heal up okay.

I guess the size of the 16oz'er is misleading.... looks like you could put it on the end of a nuke and everything would be alright. =p
