yars' revenge was awesome I have that game. That thing should have river raid and defender. Heck, I've still got my 2600 and like 100 games.... Now I wanna go play it...

Some of the Atari 2600 games rquired the use of paddle controls. "Breakout" was one of them, so that probably explains the difficulty you were having controling the "bar".

The joysticks were not the best, even on the games designed for them.
