Is that true or it's a trick?

Don't know about "sticky chi" first time I ever heard of that.
;)
Looks like some force neutralising went on there.

I would like to take a moment and point out that the title of this thread is just plain wrong on a couple different levels.
That's why I'm asking, I'm not doing aseverations.
The title of the video is "self-defence against a japanese sword (block and sticking chi)", that's why I use the sticky chi term.
The master is a highly represent of Yang Tai Chi, but I always heared that this kind of chi demostrations are tricks. Thatīs why I'm asking opinions, I don't want to offense nobody.

Jaza.
I see the Guy controlling/neutralising the upward movement of the Katana.
And thus keeping the sword wielder off-balance.
Now if the Guy tried to pull the Katana backward & downward it would be more interesting.
This could be done by being sensitive, having good listening skill, etc.
Often those demoes are exagerated, but not 100% tricks.
Could be either trick or pre-arranged.
Nothing to do with "sticking chi "here though.
BTW, you want the Chi to flow freely through your body not being blocked or stuck anywhere, plus as far as I learned "Chi" cannot leave your body.
That did not make me happy :(
